Another watercolour landscape painting. This one has a dirt path cutting through large evergreen trees. I'm practicing painting loosely and not focusing on details.

 
This small landscape painting isn't of any particular place, I just kind of made it up as I went along. Originally I painted a 7 x 5 inch in acrylic some years ago, and decided to paint a watercolour version to see how it would come out, and this is the result.

I'm practicing drawing directly with pen to paper, this pen and ink drawing of a Black Capped chickadee was made with Sharpie gel pen, nib size .05, I would prefer a smaller size but I think that's the smallest size gel pens offer.

Ever wonder how birds can survive the harsh cold of winter? During the colder months of the year birds are seen perched and looking plump from their fluffed up feathers, chickadees especially look like little round fluff balls. This is actually a form of insulation, keeping birds warm in the winter. 

The feathers trap warm air inside close to the bird's body and can reduce heat loss by as much as 50% or even more!

I make various decorative patterns for print on demand sites that sell all sort of products besides wall art. This leaf pattern is my latest design, you can see it here pictured on a pillow that is sold in my Redbubble  shop. I also made one with a blue background

In Southern Ontario there is no lack of those majestic Canada geese, especially near the lake. At the end of summer they can be heard honking away as they make their way south for the winter.

They migrate to Mexico and the southern United States, then head back up to Canada in the spring. But there was a time when some would stay through the winter because of people feeding them. This led to some geese getting stuck out on the iced lake and needing to be rescued. So for years now it's been illegal to feed them.
